Art Blocks at Art Basel Miami: Presenting Quine by Larva Labs

Art Blocks is presenting at Art Basel for the first time.

We're one of 12 exhibitors selected for Zero 10, Art Basel's new platform for digital art, featuring Quine by Larva Labs—the final Art Blocks Curated release. Main floor, December 3-7, Miami.

    About Zero 10
Zero 10 is Art Basel's multi-year commitment to digital art as an integral part of the contemporary art market. The name references Kazimir Malevich's seminal 1915 exhibition in Petrograd, a historic point of departure for the avant-garde that redefined creative language for a new century.

The inaugural presentation spans 10,000 square feet of main floor space—not upstairs, not offsite—with 100,000+ attendees and plans to expand to Art Basel Hong Kong in 2026. Zero 10 is curated by Eli Scheinman and supported by OpenSea as an Official Partner of Art Basel Miami Beach 2025.

We applaud Art Basel's commitment that digital art belongs in the conversation.

    About Quine
Quine is the final Art Blocks Curated project, where the code is not just the medium, but the subject.

Drawing from the computer science concept of a quine—a program that produces a copy of its own source code as output—each work incorporates its own code into the visuals it creates. Rather than hiding the generative process, Quine makes code visible, creating a strange loop where the artwork contains the instructions for its own existence.

Each Quine functions simultaneously as executable code and typographic composition, with some reproducing themselves exactly and others cycling through generations before returning to their origin.

    Larva Labs
Larva Labs is the creative duo of Matt Hall and John Watkinson, technologists and artists known for pioneering blockchain-based art projects including CryptoPunks, Autoglyphs, and Meebits.

Their projects have entered permanent collections at the Centre Pompidou, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami, and ZKM Karlsruhe, among others.

Quine represents Larva Labs closing out the Art Blocks Curated collection—the final statement on a defining chapter in generative art.

    What We're Presenting
The Art Blocks booth will feature all 497 works from the Quine collection displayed in a custom vitrine. Larva Labs selected 10 Quines from their artist proofs, which will be presented as signed, framed works and available for collectors.

We'll be on the main floor alongside Pace Gallery and Beeple Studios.
