Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Art Blocks has entered into an agreement to acquire Trame Paris, the luxury generative design studio renowned for fusing heritage craft with algorithms. This strategic acquisition will significantly advance our vision of bringing generative art from digital to physical reality, creating the first fully integrated ecosystem spanning NFTs to luxury physical products.
Key Highlights of the Announcement:
- Complete Market Coverage: The combination unites Art Blocks’ digital platform, Trame’s luxury physical offerings, and our Generative Goods division, delivering everything from $50 educational kits to $25,000+ luxury pieces.
- Proven Technology Integration: Trame has built all of its collections on Art Blocks Engine since 2022, ensuring seamless shared infrastructure across both digital and physical product lines.
- Luxury Manufacturing Excellence: Trame brings established relationships with master craftspeople in Aubusson, Chartres, and Venice (including workshops that restored NotreDame), guaranteeing unparalleled quality and prestige.
- Strategic Vertical Integration: By consolidating algorithm development, digital minting, and artisanal manufacturing, Art Blocks now oversees the entire generative art value chain, positioning itself as the definitive platform for creators and collectors alike.
“This acquisition follows our vision to bridge digital and physical realms in generative art,” said Erick Calderon, Founder of Art Blocks. “By bringing Trame into the family, we are uniting luxury and mainstream, code and craft. Together, we’ll offer collectors the full spectrum of algorithmic creativity.”
Founded by Ismail Tazi, Adnane Tazi, and Jaime Derringer, Trame has earned global acclaim for merging generative scripts with traditional techniques, creating Venetian glass mirrors, stained glass sculptures, wall tapestries, and handwoven café chairs. The studio has collaborated with renowned generative artists such as Jeff Davis, Alexis André, Martin Grasser, Linda Dounia, Ix Shells, and Fingacode.
We're excited to welcome Trame into the Art Blocks family as we shape the future of generative art together.
