What if collecting art meant participating in art? Today we’re introducing PostParams, transforming the relationship between collectors and their artwork from static ownership to dynamic collaboration. Your collection becomes a living partnership that grows more personal over time.
Jiwa is the first artist to demonstrate this new paradigm in his DDUST collection launching July 8th. Through PostParams, collectors don’t just own jiwa’s art, they customize palettes from his Marfa photographs, and share surprise moments when the artist transforms the entire collection.

PostParams creates deeper relationships between you, the artist, and the blockchain through three types of ongoing collaboration:
Inspired by platforms like Async Art’s pioneering programmable art concepts, PostParams brings this collaborative relationship to the Art Blocks ecosystem with complete on-chain provenance. Every interaction strengthens your connection to the artwork, creating a living history of how your collection evolves through your choices, the artist’s vision, and blockchain activity.
“Your art doesn’t have to end at mint,” explains Jordan Lyall, Chief Product Officer at Art Blocks. “With PostParams, collecting becomes an ongoing relationship. The art grows with you, becomes more personal, and creates deeper connections than we’ve ever had before.”

Jiwa’s DDUST collection demonstrates how participation transforms the collecting experience through two key systems:
Personal Connection: Choose from 32 color palettes, each derived from a specific memory of jiwa’s time in West Texas—from iconic desert landscapes to quiet back streets, creating a personal connection between your piece and the artist’s creative journey.
The palette browser at ddustpalettes.jiwa.art shows you the actual Marfa photographs behind each option—connecting your digital piece back to the physical place where it was conceived.
Jiwa spent his residency translating the West Texas landscape algorithmically into texture, and each palette captures a specific moment from that artistic journey.
Shared Experiences: Witness dust storms that sweep through the collection using live Ethereum blockheight data. These rare weather events happen only 1-2 times per year per piece, creating community moments where collectors share in what jiwa calls “a collective dust experience,” individual artworks connected through Ethereum’s rhythm.
“The dust normally blows in a single direction for each token,” jiwa explains. “When storms hit, the wind changes directions and a special quote appears, a passage about Texas dust from 1858. It creates these magical shared moments.”
“You can choose palettes based on colors or memories you might have of Marfa,” jiwa notes. “It connects your digital piece back to the physical place where it was conceived.”
Collection Details: jiwa’s DDUST collection is designed for broad accessibility while maintaining the depth that makes each piece personally meaningful. This pricing reflects our commitment to making participatory art accessible to both new and experienced collectors.
PostParams represents a fundamental shift from collecting as transaction to collecting as relationship. Your art becomes more personal through ongoing collaboration, creating connections that strengthen rather than diminish over time.
Beyond ownership, PostParams creates living provenance. Every customization, artist update, and blockchain response becomes part of the artwork’s permanent history. This isn’t just about modifying art, it’s about co-creating a richer story that travels with the work forever.
PostParams serves as infrastructure for collaborative art experiences that extend far beyond individual pieces. The system can integrate with any smart contract or data source, opening possibilities for artworks that respond to community decisions, market conditions, social sentiment, or autonomous systems, creating art that doesn’t just exist on the blockchain, but truly participates in the entire Web3 ecosystem.
This transforms what it means to collect digital art, where your relationship with artwork can grow, surprise, and evolve alongside you.
PostParams began organically as a hackathon idea from the engineering team at Art Blocks. The entire company worked together to build it in a way that pushes the boundaries of what is possible. The team spent months developing the infrastructure that makes these collaborative relationships possible. PostParams handles collector participation, artist updates, and blockchain integration through unified on-chain systems.
Unlike time-based projects that rely on browser clocks, PostParams processes actual Ethereum data, ensuring collaborative elements remain synchronized with the blockchain itself regardless of where or when the art is experienced. All interactions, your customizations, artist updates, and blockchain responses, are stored on-chain through Art Blocks’ infrastructure, ensuring your collaborative relationship is as permanent as the original artwork.
Artists maintain creative control by defining how collaboration works while collectors participate through intuitive interfaces on artblocks.io (or even Etherescan directly), making meaningful engagement accessible regardless of technical expertise.
The result is robust infrastructure that enables permissionless artistic collaboration, exactly the kind of innovation that emerges when talented engineers and artists have space to reimagine what collecting can become.
DDUST by jiwa marks the first major collaborative release between Art Blocks and OpenSea, combining both platforms’ strengths to create a seamless collecting experience. Collectors mint on OpenSea while accessing PostParams features on artblocks.io.
This partnership approach allows collectors to discover and purchase through OpenSea’s reach while engaging with the deeper collaborative features through Art Blocks’ specialized infrastructure.
