A Tender Count(ing)

Source introduces an advanced approach to image generation, underpinning the potential of integrating machine learning and blockchain technologies. This methodology merges the powerful functionalities of OpenCV and Diffusers to curate an aesthetic universe of science fiction-inspired generative structures, set against a stark, contrasting backdrop. The collection was created from a Stable Diffusion checkpoint fine-tuned on generative artworks and a custom 7-pass inference routine. The custom inference has the capacity for the real-time generation of high-definition 4K outputs at the moment of minting. The reproducibility of the entire collection signifies a noteworthy step in the democratization of generative artwork, ensuring accessibility and verifiability of the artistic process.

Tur is an A.I. generated art series created by Ganchitecture in collaboration with Adam Berninger of Tender – and takes its name from the root of 'tower' and the german word for door or doorway: a metaphor for the passage between eras that these towers symbolize. 

For millennia, civilizations have used monumental structures to mark the rallying point of their tribe, their culture, and the claims they stake. Ultimately, these central pillars even became the symbols of their civilization, transcending each budding and ending of an era. Now, what has evolved from simple stone structures into complex temples and citadels is overshadowed by the complex urban organisms that define our greatest places of congregation. 

Tur imagines a future where the global technoculture reaches its tipping point, and dominance is contested between humans and artificial intelligence. The resulting cultural regressions lead back to the iconic towering structures of civiliazations-past as a means for asserting authority. These structures serve as a visible counterpoint to the increasingly unseen and pervasive controls applied through technology. The return to this priapic symbol of power of course derives its formal and structural qualities from the completeness provided by an A.I. driven survey of historic towers and imposing architecture. 

These raw, monumental, and anachronistic structures are imperfect and decaying – transforming their A.I. sources into a new typologies of future towers. Are these the creations of humanity’s last attempt at dominance or an auto-mechanistic creation of artificial intelligence that assimilates symbols of human power? Either way, their archetypal structures embody the anonymous remnants of future cultures: the places that last survive their epoch, and perhaps even the last earthly epoch.

A structure, once whole, has split. Shadows reach from one side to the other in a futile attempt to bridge the gap. The impossible distance from here to there is too far to judge. The light indicates a moment in time, as if the sides could still be moving. But are they drifting apart or will they come back together?

Impossible Distance

Collection of 100 gently floating eyes shedding a flow of tears, combining AI, digital painting, and code, a collaborative work between Jenni Pasanen and Bruta. Some works start from an idea, while others start from visuals or a story. Origin of this project begins from error of the human mind, followed by gratitude, tears, and kindness, and after long time evolved to something completely new. Sometimes errors and accidents can lead us to greatest moments of our lives. Always embrace every moment, as you never know where it leads you. With this project, I want to express how AI can be bridged between different tools and ways of making art. Creating doesn't have to follow certain rules or just stick inside the borders of one technique; it can flow between many. In the project AI worked as an inspiration, as well as a paint, expanding through multiple tools and variations. Combined with digital painting & animation, and bound together with code and interaction. Breaking the expected brings joy through the unexpected.
