This release uses a descending auction, which initiates at a specific time and price, with the price decreasing at an accelerating rate until the designated end time, at which point it reaches the final base price. The last item purchased, before or after the end time, sets the clearing price. Collectors who bid above the clearing price can claim the difference in price as a settlement.
