Zupermat is a generative sculpture made of white shapes coloured by the ambient light. Using this strict visual grammar, the series explores sentiments and perceptions induced by organization of objects in space. The relative importance of these shapes is expressed by their form, size and position. As the vantage point changes - the perception of these qualities is reduced, reversed, rendered imperceptible or amplified. Zupermat aims to express a vast yet reassuring space - a sense of supreme calmness.
Visited, not Animated
Zupermat is not an animated piece. The viewer travels inside and around the sculpture in a randomly generated movement. The resulting effect exposes ever changing details and vantage points. Sometimes the piece is camera shy, other times you dive right in.
