Generative Couture is a work of generative art reaching beyond digital screens and into material, wearable artworks.

Being a generative piece, it offers the viewer a chance to generate a multitude of unique, unrepeatable images. Here however, the algorithm goes beyond visuals; it also writes the coding instructions for embroidery machines, and the vectors for the tech-pack, allowing real garments to be cut and stitched automatically, on demand, fully generated on the NFT.

The artwork itself finds its inspiration in the observation of natural phenomena, like bubbles and wet reflections, and the translation of those extremely shiny/oily light effects to really flat and matte palettes and techniques. It all adds to a bit of a Trompe l'œil where stitched threads actually seem chrome-like, representing the concept of digital-material duality .
