Commit Hash: The Beginning of On-Chain Art 

Art Blocks has partnered with Edge & Node House of Web3 to present an exhibition that highlights the genesis and evolution of on-chain generative art on the Art Blocks platform, featuring a chronological showcase from the early days to the present and selected works from the Art Blocks Corporate Collection emphasizing diversity and range in this pioneering art form. The first acquisition of exhibited work includes Amoeba by last even, Time Atlas 🌐 by Paolo Tonon, Facets by conundrumer, Being Yourself While Fitting In by LIA, Center Pivot by Craig Hughes & Eric Hughes, and Gels by Jason Brown & Shawn Douglas.

Collēctīvus Exhibition

On November 1, 2023 we acquired a curated selection of works from projects featured in “Collēctīvus: Computation, Consciousness, and Collective Memory” exhibition, currently on view in the Art Blocks Gallery in Marfa, TX. Works by Kim Asendorf, Beervanger, Eric De Giuli, Laya Mathikshara & Santiago, Lisa Orth, Kazuhiro Tanimoto, and Melissa Wiederrecht are now part of the collection.

Art Blocks added Harvey Rayner’s marfaMesh #0 to our Corporate Collection. Incorporating interactions during our third-annual Marfa Weekend, the Explorations release showcases generative art’s potential to create personalized and interactive art narratives, using a dynamic approach generative art to preserve event memories as a modern and networked approach to memorabilia. It joins two other Explorations Mint #0s: Daniel Calderon ArenasMarfa Yucca and Alexis André’s Friendship Bracelets.
